She obtained her bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University and her master’s degree from the University of Southern California. She holds certifications in both sensory integration and neurodevelopmental treatment and has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy in Health Care. Her more than 20 years of experience specializing in neurological rehabilitation has included a broad range of research, teaching, administrative and clinical practice. She has published over 20 articles, chapters, and books related to the adult with acquired brain injury.

I bet the first edition, back when it was initially written, was great for the time period. This version, however, is a hot mess based on outdated science and written almost specifically for an audience of occupational therapists who haven't read up on their field since 2007. Now that's a scary thought...
This is the 4th edition. If you have an older edition, then it is time to update. The information is priceless with diagnostic information, to evaluations, and treatment. I took this to my occupational therapy fieldwork in a stroke rehab hospital and all the therapistsame borrowed it and they even discussed purchasing a copy for the department.
I won't lie, this can be a bit painful to read through... but it contains so much valuable information about disorders, symptoms, evaluations, treatment styles, and intervention ideas. A very helpful resource!
As an entry level OT, I often use this book to help me better understand the nature of the deficits experienced by my patients with cognitive, visual,or perceptual problems. Although I haven't made it through the entire book, I've found it to be well outlined and detailed. I definitely feel more confident in my treatment approach and explaining the deficits to patients and their families. The topic matter is definitely advanced level material, but overall highly recommended if you have an interest in vision, cognition, and perception.
I didn't need this book for school, but I have an interest in neuro rehab. I used this resource on my clinical fieldwork quite a bit!!

Was everything I expected and more. Needed the book for class and I use it all the time. A very easy read and very useful.
